Tom, a hopeless romantic who works as a greeting card composer falls in love with Summer, a woman who was recently employed in the same company as an assistant. Tom then takes interest in Summer, like every other man, but Tom wins her affection and they go out on a few dates and end up in a "relationship". But it's pretty one sided as Summer does not believe in love or relationships.
